A Call for Transparency and Environmental Protection: Concerns of Ukrainian Citizens on the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Fund Agreement

 As a concerned citizen of Ukraine, I am sharing my appeal to the Verkhovna Rada regarding the U.S.-Ukraine Agreement on the Reconstruction Investment Fund, signed on April 30, 2025. This agreement raises serious questions about transparency, fairness, economic dependency, and environmental risks, especially given Ukraine’s outdated environmental legislation and the global surge in demand for critical minerals (UNCTAD, May 9, 2025). I urge the international community, policymakers, and fellow citizens to read, share, and discuss this issue. In 2009, I realized that a personal computer is not just a machine, but the guardian of my life. Since then, I have been storing personal documents, family photos, work projects, thoughts, music and films. Over the years, I have felt more and more clearly that the modern world is erasing personality. Wars, refugees, artificial intelligence , algorithms – all this turns a person into an “average value”. The question of signs of occupation in Crimea, including Alushta, requires examining both historical context and the current situation in light of international law and political realities.
